Fin — formerly Intercom, founded in 2011 by Eoghan McCabe, Des Traynor, Ciaran Lee, and David Barrett — is the AI Customer Agent company, serving nearly 30,000 businesses across service, sales, and ecommerce channels. The company renamed itself from Intercom to Fin in May 2026 to reflect its AI agent product becoming the core of the business (the Intercom name lives on as its customer service software platform). Headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Dublin, London, Chicago, and Sydney, Fin has ~1,400 employees and has raised $242M in venture funding plus $250M in venture debt from Hercules Capital. In late 2026, Fin agreed to be acquired by Salesforce for approximately $3.6B, a deal expected to close in Q4 of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027.
