Walleye Capital seeks interns for high-impact projects supporting long/short discretionary investment strategies through alternative data research, thematic investment analysis, and stock-specific assessments. This 10-week internship runs June–August 2027 in NYC.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Central Data Science on research initiatives, supporting both production insight pipelines and ad hoc analytics.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers identifying areas where alternative/fundamental data strengthens investment theses.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, signal validation, and performance attribution studies.
- Evaluate new data vendors through quantitative and qualitative assessment.
- Learn data science workflows on cloud and Linux infrastructure.
- Clean, transform, and manage structured/unstructured datasets while maintaining code quality and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing undergraduate or non-MBA master's in a STEM field, expected graduation December 2027–June 2028.
- Strong quantitative skills, programming proficiency, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving ability.
- Self-motivation, adaptability, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools.
- Thrives in collaborative environments valuing intellectual humility and continuous learning.
