Machine Learning (ML) Engineer Intern

Peakflo is an AI-powered fintech startup backed by Y Combinator (W22) and Google AI Accelerator, automating accounts payable and receivable processes for over 100 companies globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Voice-Optimized Prompt Design — design conversational flows that account for natural speech patterns (pauses, interruptions, intonation) while ensuring clarity for text-to-speech systems.
• Agentic Architecture Development — build hierarchical finance AI agents coordinating sub-agents for research, analysis, and reporting across sequential or plan-and-execute workflows.
• Continuous Prompt Refinement — implement feedback loops, A/B testing, prompt versioning, and fine-tune leading LLMs (Gemini, GPT, Claude) for financial applications.
• RAG Integration & Grounding — integrate retrieval-augmented generation with enterprise knowledge bases and financial APIs while maintaining domain-specific context control.
• Voice Integration & Tech Stack Collaboration — partner with engineering teams integrating prompts with speech recognition, intent extraction, LiveKit voice infrastructure, and telephony APIs.
• AI Solution Development — create complementary components including OCR models, chatbots, and automated approval systems supporting financial workflows.

Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field.
• 0.5–2 years of industry experience with ML, Statistics, LLM fine-tuning, or prompt engineering.
• Fluent English (written and verbal).
• Strong Python back-end development experience.
• Production-level ML product deployment experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple LLM platforms.
• Familiarity with NLP libraries and techniques.
• Software engineering best practices knowledge.
• Git version control proficiency.
