Solutions Architect (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

NAV CANADA is seeking motivated and experienced Solutions Architects to join our technology team. These roles are ideal for an individual with experience in system design and integration who is ready to shape solutions that support and advance Air Navigation Services in Canada. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to translate business and operational needs into effective system solutions, conducting requirements analysis and integration planning to ensure solutions align with technical, safety, and performance standards across complex environments.

Key accountabilities

• Contribute to the design and integration of systems, subsystems, and interfaces, ensuring alignment with operational, technical, safety, and security requirements.
• Participate in planning, feasibility assessments, and effort estimation, providing input on risks, dependencies, and solution viability.
• Conduct impact analysis to assess how system changes affect existing architectures, integrations, and operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and alignment of requirements, design, and implementation.
• Develop technical documentation, including specifications, design artifacts, and standards.
• Support system lifecycle activities, including implementation, integration, validation, and transition to operations.
• Identify system deficiencies and recommend improvements or corrective actions to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability.

Education & experience

Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in computer engineering, systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or an acceptable combination of education, experience, and training. 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, solution design, or related roles, preferably within complex or integrated environments. Experience gathering and analyzing requirements and contributing to system design and integration activities. Experience with tools supporting requirements management, modeling, configuration management, and testing (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Enterprise Architect, IBM Jazz).

Working conditions

This is a hybrid position with a minimum requirement of 3 days per week on site. Travel may be required on occasion.
