Software Dev Engineer I, Amazon University Talent Acquisition

This role is intended for 2026 and 2025 graduates only. Amazon is looking for Software Development Engineers who are passionate about solving complex, ambiguous problems with elegant and efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative products and services.
• Design and build technologies for large distributed computing environments.
• Create solutions for predictions on distributed systems at scale.
• Develop distributed storage, indexing, and query systems.
• Write solutions for broadly-defined problems in agile environments.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals — object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
• Programming proficiency in C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior technical internship experience.
• Distributed systems and database experience.
• Knowledge of optimization mathematics.
• Strong technical communication skills.
• Ability to handle ambiguous problems abstractly.
